The Conservation Finance Innovation Network (the CFI Network) is a face-to-face and online network that brings together best practices and outstanding practitioners working to finance land and biodiversity conservation projects in the United States and internationally. We are looking for a 2008 summer intern to tackle three tasks:

• Conduct in-depth research to identify sources of untapped conservation finance expertise within conservation organizations and universities, for posting on the CFI Network website
• Compile and post to the CFI Network website both domestic and international news stories related of particular interest to conservation finance practitioners, and
• Assist in devising a strategy for reaching out to undergraduate and graduate students in North and South America potentially interested in conservation finance as a career option, and inviting such students to compete, by submitting an essay on conservation finance, for one of several all-expenses paid trips to participate in the Conservation Finance in the Americas conference to be held between January 16 and 20, 2009 in Valdivia, Chile.

Candidates for the research associate position should be very well organized, self-motivated individuals with a strong interest in the conservation of nature, excellent writing skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Stipends are available for up to 8 weeks of work at $900 per week.
