QLF's Marine Program will receive a grant from NOAA for its project “Muscongus Bay Watershed Questing Program.”

The U.S. National Park Service celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park and the Conservation Study Institute by opening the Forest Center, a new green building. The new education center, built entirely from wood from the Mount Tom Forest in Woodstock, Vermont, is expected to achieve a high LEED certification. Jessica Brown and Brent Mitchell accepted an award on behalf of QLF, recognizing its contributions to the Park and Institute. The award was crafted from the last plank harvested to build the Forest Center.

Marine Species at Risk Project Expands - Close to 100 volunteers on the Quebec Lower North Shore, southern Labrador and western Newfoundland are now documenting sightings of twelve marine species considered at risk in Canada.

As part of the Inuit-Innu Recovering History Project, QLF staff member Candace Cochrane put up two exhibits in Sheshatshiu and Nain, Labrador, of photographs she made of community members between 1969 and 1986.

With support from the Newfoundland and Labrador Conservation Corps and Environment Canada's EcoAction Program, QLF implemented climate change projects in the communities of Nain and Forteau over the past two years.
