The Global Leadership Network will consist of a series of consultations in QLF’s focus regions. It is based on tapping alumni expertiseto provide environmental consulting services. The consultants (QLF Alumni) are catalogued by skill-set, location and other relevant parameters in a database managed by QLF Manager of Human Capital. This database will help create appropriate QLF Teams. A percentage of alumni consultant compensation is returned to QLF to a Global Conservation or Stewardship Fund which helps sustain other QLF conservation efforts and the work of regional partner organizations.

The idea for the GLN grew out of the final session of the QLF First Alumni Congress in Hungary in 2006. Unleashing the potential power of alumni engagement in solving global environmental problems was a central topic at the Congress. Congress attendees were energized as old networks reformed and new ones were forged. The idea for the GLN was crystallized in the final session of the Congress, with the palpable sense that QLF’s future could indeed have global implications.
